Larnach Castle is the perfect seeting for your celebratory conference dinner.
Black Tie, Scottish, Victorian are all exciting themes for any event held in the beautiful 3000 square foot historic Ballroom. Pre-dinner drinks can be held in the stunning garden outside.
Larnach Castle was built in 1871 and is an award winning attraction surrounded by a "Garden of National Significance". The Castle has an interesting and sometimes scandalous past and is open for daily viewing. We also serve teas, lunches and dinners for groups.
Larnach Lodge, a new re-creation of a colonial farm building, features 12 boutique theme rooms all with ensuites and fabulous views. Guests may dine in one of the Castle dining rooms when booked by 5pm.

Location

Larnach Castle is located on the beautiful Otago Peninsula, a 20 minute drive from Dunedin city, and on the way to the unique wildlife attractions of the area. 1000 feet above sea level the Castle commands stunning views of Dunedin, Otago Harbour and the Pacific Ocean.
The Garden at Larnach Castle is a celebration of southern hemisphere plants and is a popular setting for weddings.
Dunedin also has many other attractions, including Taieri Gorge Railway, Cadbury Chocolate factory, Olveston House, Speight Brewerey Heritage Centre... The unique wildlife attractions include the worlds only mainland Albatross Colony, the worlds rarest Yellow Eyed Penguin, Monarch Harbour Cruises.

Accommodation

Larnach Lodge, a new re-creation of a colonial farm building, features 12 boutique theme rooms all with ensuites and fabulous views. The Lodge is Qualmarked four star guest and hosted accommodation.
The 12 rooms all feature wonderful views, wool duvets, feather pillows, and are all individually decorated th theme, including, Rhododendron, Scottish, Victorian, Sea, Goldrush...
Breakfast is held in the historic Stables
Guests may dine in one of the Castle dining rooms when booked by 5pm.
Live in conferences are accepted in the tourist off season - May, June, July and August.

Catering Information

Larnach Castle has its own catering facilities and chefs.
We mainly cater for the evening hightlight of a conference with buffet or Table d'Hote menus.
We can seat 200 people in the Ballroom, and have catered for 350 people with theme buffets around the Castle.
We are fully licensed.
